AmWorld Expands Capability With Crossflight Acquisition
Following the recent acquisition of Crossflight, AmWorld has doubled the size of both its fleet and operational network, while bolstering capacities for both domestic and international solutions. Specialising in time-critical movements and event logistics, AmWorld is a trusted international courier and white glove logistics partner which combines global reach with extensive industry expertise, integrated services, and a customer-centric approach to services. Known for its problem solving approach to logistics, the company has made a name for itself in acting not just as a logistics service provider, but as a critical logistics partner capable of solving the problems that hold businesses back.
As a result, the firm has proven a popular partner of choice within the events and entrainment sectors, where specialist requirements are commonplace. Where AmWorld has always stood out, however, is in the level of flexibility that AmWorld can bring to customers, based upon a simple principle of developing and flexing business relationships depending on the unique needs of each and every customer. Such flexibility is backed up by an expansive in-house fleet, network of supply chain partners, and broad geographic coverage to support customers with a complete, bespoke, logistics solution.
To learn more about the firm's approach, we spoke with Ian Bolton, CEO for AmWorld, who shared: "Alongside our directly managed fleet, one of the real strengths of the business is the trusted partner network we have developed over many years. This gives us access to a much wider range of specialist vehicles allowing us to support anything from sensitive express deliveries through to more complex logistical and installation requirements. "From a service continuity perspective, we have always believed resilience comes from flexibility and relationships rather than relying on a single operating model.
We operate with a combination of owned assets, strategic transport partners, multiple carrier relationships and geographically diverse support. This means that we can adapt quickly when volumes spike, routes change or unforeseen disruption occurs. Ultimately, our Customers value reliability above all else so continuity planning, communication and operational agility are built into the way we run our business on a daily basis."
Of course, the most pivotal investment in the last 12 months includes the announced acquisition of Crossflight. Initially identified for its alignment in values, approach, and service mentality, the acquisition for Crossflight forms part of AmWorld's strategic growth strategy, allowing the firm to broaden its range of services and consolidate service options into a single-source solution. As a result, AmWorld is now able to offer a complete logistics solution including: international and domestic courier services; road, sea, and air freight management; TAPA certified storage and warehousing; e-commerce fulfilment; international and domestic mailing; event and project logistics; IT asset management and logistics; art logistics; same-day delivery; air charter; and certified destruction.
Furthermore, the acquisition has fundamentally doubled the organisation's fleet and network of operational locations, vastly expanding the firm's capabilities. Further investments have also been made in the firm's sustainability commitments, including a transition from traditional courier bags to a wholly recyclable sugarcane-based alternative, the mitigation of plastic use across the business (achieving CSR plastic neutrality), an overhaul of traditional lighting systems to advanced LED alternatives (accounting for 80% of lighting), and the expansion of the firm's EV and hybrid fleet (of which there are currently seven of each). All of this forms part of what is a very clear, multi-faceted approach to environmental responsibility.
As for the future, it is clear that following the acquisition of Crossflight, AmWorld is in an incredibly strong position for growth, with efforts over recent years to develop a solid operational team similarly positioning the company very well for accelerated growth. Coupled with this, the continually rising demand for partnership-oriented logistics relationships certainly paints a positive picture for commercial growth opportunities and we look forward to seeing just how far the company can grow in the next five years. Offering further clarity into what the future may hold, Ian shared: "The new business growth and the acquisition of Crossflight have given us a strong platform for the future but our longer-term strategy is not simply becoming bigger for the sake of scale.
The focus over the next five years is to continue to grow intelligently, strengthening our market position while protecting the culture and service standards that have helped us get to this point.
"Acquisitions will continue to play a role in our journey but only where there is genuine strategic and cultural alignment.
For us it is not just about turnover or geographical reach, it is about bringing together businesses that strengthen our Customer proposition including our oversea footprint which also complements our values and enhance the overall capability of the group."
