Fast and effective!
This simple TF card with SD adaptor, is an essential for so many devices these days – but then there are so many ways we want to store video files and this is the ideal format.
I have put this card through its paces and it seems just as fast as other brands that I have (SanDisk, Samsung, Lexar) and works in my video camera, my phone or in a couple of other devices where it acts as a back up.
This is a brilliant Micro SD card and one that can be depended on. Great value!!!
This Micro-SD card comes in standard memory card packaging in where you have to cut the top off to access the memory card. The memory card is the correct size and slots into, locks perfectly, and ejects easily from a Micro-SD slot. It does look like the design is trying to imitate a well-known memory card brand, but the print isn’t as sharp and there’s the obvious spelling mistake.
With the aesthetic aside, performance is acceptable and is capable of a minimum write speed of 30MB/s which is what is required for a U3 memory card which it is badged at. I told Windows 11 to use the memory card in performance mode and my testing software gave a sequential reading of 95MB/s read and 49MB/s sequential write. The speeds dropped down with random read and writes along the available storage space, which is expected, and gave 14MB/s read and 3MB/s write. File transfers worked well and took a full 50GB file with no errors or artifacts in the video after playing it back from the memory card. One thing to note is that you need to reformat the card to an NTFS file partition for it to be able to accept large single files. Easily and quickly done and most devices will do this automatically when you first insert the card.
This memory card performs better than I was expecting for the price. The print quality on the memory card itself leaves a lot to be desired but it has the full capacity and allowed me to playback a 4k film on the card itself so I can’t fault it for the money
This memory card is a micro-SD card which is supplied with a convertor meaning you can plug it into a standard SD card slot on your PC/Laptop or other device you may want to use it in. Of course if it is intended for a smartphone odds are you will find that will support the micro-SD format anyway and there will be no need for the convertor.
When plugged into a PC using the supplied convertor it is reported as an SDXC card, this is probably due to the capacity of the card being 64Gb (UN-formatted that is, in use you get just under 59Gb of usable space – normal for any card that is formatted).
Copying files to this card is pretty fast, even from a hard disc as opposed to an SSD it achieves a pretty constant speed that fluctuates between 30-40mbps even when copying fairly small files. Read speed as with most memory devices is even quicker proving the quality of the card.
To test it is the capacity it claims to be I actually filled it on purpose to test the claim, there were no write errors and picking files randomly that had been copied to the card all were perfectly readable and retrieved very quickly.
Normally I stick to memory cards from companies such as Sandisk or Lexar as I often need fast cards for high quality Digital SLR’s etc… Having tested this card I believe I would quite happily buy these in future as well as they are good quality and value for money.
Works as expected
Note that this review is for the 64GB card and not the 512GB card currently shown on the website.
The unbranded card is supplied in a cardboard and plastic holder. The cardboard has to be cut in order to extract the plastic holder. This holder is ‘hinged’ and can be kept for later storage if required.
An SD card adapter is included, although most people will probably have several of these already.
Many cards available online are either faulty, lower capacity than advertised or slower speed, so I put this one through its paces.
Plugging it into a USB 3.0 port on a computer using a microSD to USB A (2.0) adaptor showed it as having a usable capacity of 58.88 GB and it was pre-formatted to FAT 32. The usable capacity is correct for a formatted 64GB microSD card.
Using partition manager software, I did an in-depth scan of the cards ‘surface’ (actually a test of individual solid state transistors for a microSD card). This did not find any bad sectors.
The same software was used to test sequential read and write speeds using the above connection method:-
sequential read = 18.63 MB/s
sequential write = 15.16 MB/s
Overall, this card performs reasonably well and is recommended.
Class 10 speed
We needed an extra micro SD card for some trail cameras so I ordered this unbranded version.
For my own photography I tend to use branded cards but I do wonder sometimes if you are just paying for the name as I have had some fail. As the trail camera isn’t up there in terms of importance (unless the aardvark or leopard grace us with their presence) I chanced my arm with this card. Although we’ve not properly used it yet it seems to be recording and playing back well in test. I only ever buy cards with a minimum of Class 10 speed and this has just that. And 64GB should give us some decent length of recording time.
What’s not to like?
The unbranded generic card is supplied in a cardboard and plastic holder. The card can only be removed from the packaging by bursting open the cardboard
SD card adapter is included, but most people will probably have several of these already or have a port on their laptop etc
The 64GB card is marked up as Ultra, U3, Class 10, so ultra high speed class 30MB/s write speed for video recording and minimum write speed 30MB/s, this is pretty much the expectations of all microSD cards these days … however, only testing the cards performance will give honest value
Tested speed with CrystalDisMark and was able to consistently achieve write speeds of over 24MB/s, however this might be a limitation on my card reader since others are able to show speeds over the expected 30MB/s
Have since fitted to a TAPO C220 cctv camera with no issues and recording fine
Card Colours and Packaging Colours look very much like a well known MicroSD Card Manufacturer, probably intentional, good performance and no issues so far
At 9.99 for 64MB, this seems a little over-priced, perhaps wait for a voucher day
Good For Security Cameras
This is not a memory card that I trust to add important data too like documents but it is a great card to add to store security camera images too or to be used in a camera for kids. It does come with a card reader too, so any files can be added to laptops or pc’s. It could also be used as extra storage on some mobile phones too though photos will be limited due to it’s size.
Good value card
I got this memory card for use in an indoor camera we use to keep an eye on the dog when we are out for relatively long periods of time.
I have other Micro-SD memory cards that I use in a couple of my action cameras, including a GoPro, and the aesthetic design of this ZSFHONG card is very similar to the leading brand of card that I prefer to use for those devices.
In operation, I have had absolutely no issues with this card in terms of performance or integrity of recordings.
For a Class 10 rated card, with a capacity of 64GB, this is a good value for money Micro-SD card.
