A 18-year-old girl has suffered life-threatening injuries after the car she was a passenger in was involved in a horror collision[1] on the M80.
The woman was rushed to hospital[2] after the silver Volkswagen Golf[3] left the road as part of what police describe as a "serious crash".
The incident happened on the northbound sections of the road, between junctions three and four, near Moodiesburn, Scotland[4], at about 7pm on Sunday June 28.
The 20-year-old male driver of the Volkswagen was also taken to hospital, though his injuries are not said to be life threatening.
Police Scotland said a black Mercedes[5] A200 was also involved in the incident, but neither of the people in that vehicle were injured.
The northbound section of the M80 was brough to a standstill for around three hours on Sunday as investigations were carried out.
Police have meanwhile appealed for anyone with information about the crash to contact them.
Sergeant Andrew Coutts, of Police Scotland's road policing unit, said: "Our inquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may be able to help to get in touch.
