I got this RRJ R500 LVLP spray gun kit mainly for car paintwork and some furniture projects, and overall it performs surprisingly well for the price.
The atomisation is very smooth, especially when properly adjusted, and the LVLP design helps reduce overspray compared to cheaper standard spray guns. Paint goes on evenly and gives a cleaner finish with less wasted material.
I really like that the kit includes multiple nozzle sizes (1.3mm, 1.5mm, and 1.7mm), making it versatile for different jobs such as primer, base coat, clear coat, furniture paint, and general DIY spraying.
The spray pattern is wide and consistent, helping cover larger areas faster while still maintaining good control around edges and detailed sections.
The included air regulator and oil-water separator are useful additions because they help maintain more stable spraying performance without immediately needing extra accessories.
Build quality feels solid overall. The aluminium body and stainless steel components feel durable, and the gun has a comfortable grip that makes longer spraying sessions easier on the hand.
I also noticed that it uses less air than some traditional HVLP guns, which is helpful if using a smaller compressor setup.

This spray gun isnt just for cars and we’ve been using it to paint our woodwork, doors and staircase.
It’s a bit slow going but the finish (once you get your thinning right) is really very good and the low volume means you can use a small 24 litre compressor and it doesn’t create a fog which lands on everything.
You get a great selection of nozzles and the finish is something you just can’t replicate with a brush or a roller.
The spray pattern is relatively narrow so it’s precise for our staircase, but youll be there all day if you try to paint a wall with it.
For this kind of paint you need to thin it significantly, but it’s ideal for kitchen cabinet doors, internal doors and skirting etc
It’s a fairly priced set in my opinion, we found the cups make clean up far easier and allow you to spray upside down.
