I’ve been using the NEEWER SD Card Reader (CP03D) for a while now, and it has quickly become one of my most-used tech accessories. This compact little device is a powerhouse of convenience, making the task of transferring files from memory cards to my devices effortless.
Right out of the box, the build quality impressed me — it feels solid and well-made, with a sleek design that slips easily into a camera bag or pocket without adding bulk. What really sets it apart is the versatility: whether I’m working with SD 4.0, UHS-II SD, TF/Micro SD cards, or switching between USB-C and USB-A devices, this reader handles it all without fuss.
Data transfer speeds have been consistently excellent thanks to USB 3.2 high-speed performance. Large batches of photos and videos from my camera, drone, and action cam move over lightning-fast, saving me time and hassle. I love that I can plug it straight into my laptop, phone, or tablet — the dual Type-C and USB-A support means I never need an extra adapter.
Setup was truly plug-and-play. I simply popped a card in and connected to my devices, and everything showed up instantly. No software to install, no compatibility headaches — just smooth, reliable performance every time.
Whether I’m offloading RAW files after a shoot, grabbing footage from my drone, or backing up clips from my phone’s microSD, this reader has been rock-solid. It’s versatile, fast, and rugged enough for constant use. NEEWER SD Card Reade
I got this SD Card Reader as it is a very versatile option for reading data through a hub that is capable of reading various formats. You’re able to plug in full size SD card’s, micro SD’s and USB drives. To get full speed you can plug in a 5V USB cable from a power source. Now one important point of clarification is that you can only read data through this as a hub, this is not able to power devices.
One thing that is really cool is that the white loop you see in the product photos – one end is USB-A and the other end is USB-C. You can use either end to connect to your PC or phone to transfer files.
You can carry and store 4 micro SD cards (TF) and 2 full size SD cards. You can use 2 USB-A ports as data inputs and 1 USB-C as a data input along with 1 micro SD card input and 1 full size SD card input.
This is a very versatile device that is super lightweight and easy to carry around while protecting your cards. It’s a good value for all that it is capable of and will be a part of my EDC kit for travel.
While not a definitive test of it’s speed, I can consistently get 33.2 MB/s transfer over USB-C, transferring 10GB in 4m42s to a Samsung USB 3.0 thumb drive without using the 5V power supply. I then plugged the same device directly into a USB 3.0 port on my motherboard and did the same transfer, same 33.2 MB/s and overall transfer time was within a second, so this is not slowing anything down.
Ideal for amateur or even semi-professional photographers!!!
First and foremost, this functions properly as a card reader (tried both SD and microSD. But card readers are a dime-a-dozen as the saying goes, so why pick this one over others?
Well what sets this one apart imho is three things:
1) The USB cable used for the connection to your device isn’t permanently embedded – it’s a short USB A to USB C cable. The true genius is that you can use it to connect to either USB A or C devices! As a bonus, you can plug them both in and have a tiny carry strap
2) Four USB ports! It’s a full on USB hub, not just a card reader!
3) Secure storage for 2 SD (or SD sized adapters) and 4 microSD! Keep all of your cards (or at least a several of them) in one place never to be lost again!
A pricey, but high quality SD card reader for fast transfers.
This SD card reader has all the features you need to transfer pictures, video and any files you need.
At almost 30 dollars at the time of review, it is a little pricey, but the build quality is definitely there. This isn’t some cheap, flimsy adapter.
Connects via USB-C, so it can work with just about any new type of tech, Apple, Windows, etc. That means the compatibility with different formats and USB speeds allows for quick transfers.
