M6 drivers face double 9-hour weekend closure across Birmingham and Black Country

West Midlands drivers face a double overnight closure of the M6 this weekend.
National Highways has announced it will be closing a portion of the motorway[1] tonight (June 6) on Saturday and tomorrow night on Sunday (June 7).
The northbound carriageway[2] will be closed between Junction 6, Spaghetti Junction, and Junction 7, Great Barr.

The carriageway will be closed to traffic on both nights, starting at 9pm until 6am the following day.
National Highways said the overnight closures will be in place for maintenance[5] works.

M6 closures
- Saturday: Junction 6 to Junction 7 northbound carriageway closure, from 9pm until 6am Sunday
- Sunday: Junction 6 to Junction 7 northbound carriageway closure, from 9pm until 6am Monday
No other motorways in the region face closures this weekend, however there will be entry slip road closures further north on the M6 at Junction 22 and Junction 31.
