Motorists face delays travelling along the M42 today due to roadworks and an 'obstruction' incident.
Roadworks are in place along the motorway next to Junction 6, Bickenhill Interchange, according to Google Maps.
It comes as National Highways warned that improvement works are continuing as part of an upgrade to the motorway.

The southbound motorway was partially blocked this afternoon, June 7, due to an obstruction, reported traffic monitoring service Inrix.
Inrix reported: "M42 Southbound partially blocked, slow traffic due to obstruction on the road between J10 A5 Watling Street ( Tamworth[3] ) and J9 A4097 Kingsbury Road (Curdworth / Coleshill )."

However in an update, Inrix said: "Road cleared and traffic returned to normal, obstruction removed on M42 Southbound between J10 A5 Watling Street (Tamworth) and J9 A4097 Kingsbury Road (Curdworth / Coleshill )."
However, live traffic data from Google Maps shows congestion building along Junction 6, which is the exit and entrance used for Birmingham Airport[4] and the NEC.
The motorway was featured with shades of yellow and red, indicating congestion along the part of the route.

It could cause delays for drivers heading to the airport, or travelling up and down Solihull[7] on Sunday.
