I named it Bim. Thanks, James May. I could barely tell this is a pre owned unit, when I purchased a few days ago, I expected to receive a beaten up box and a scratched up unit. However I opened the box and found pretty much all the original bits, all the stickers on, the device is scratch free and it is genuinely in excellent condition. I am impressed, the quality coupled with the 50 voucher off the full price I definitely snagged a good deal. Think I paid 170.
In the box was the unit, 2 AAA batteries for the remote, a spare filter, a brush for cleaning the side bristles which help collect dust and dirt. You won’t need to buy anything else for it to do it’s job.
The unit itself is bigger than I imagined it would be, but very short so can fit under most furniture. Within 10 minutes it made short work of the space underneath the couch, which was pretty difficult to reach with the regular hoover. If you’re on the fence about one of these I would say go for it. The vacuum can be manually controlled through an included remote or the app, it works very well in the Auto mode. It can be quite painful to watch it bump into things and cover the same spot a few times, but it does get the entire room and the suction is brilliant.
I’ll have to take time to set schedules that work and place the charging unit somewhere central and just let it off. But this is quite light, if you want to you can drop it in a room, switch it on auto & close the door – give it 15-30 minutes and repeat elsewhere.
Pretty great time saver, and if this one works out well I can see myself spending more for a unit with better features, but for now this gets 5 stars.
Edit: After using this for a couple weeks now I would still rate it 5/5, the amount of dust it collects on every run is crazy, works really well to get under beds & the couch which are usually the dustiest spots in the house. It gets stuck sometimes (without giving an error) where it just drives forward constantly if it finds a gap it can’t pass but doesn’t reach the “bump” sensor. But that’s only in the bathroom so it gets supervised in there, beside that no faults.
We have two dogs in our house that I’m pretty sure shed their entire coat every two weeks. Now this little guy (who we’ve called Dusty) will never be strong enough to replace his Dyson buddies, but it does a damn fine job of keeping the floors pet hair free through the day.
We set it to run overnight in the living room and during the day in the other rooms. It does a great job and picks up that vast majority of the debris. It even does a pretty good job of the corners and edges. I’ve found myself setting it off from the app during the day when previously I’d just have left something – it really is super convenient.
I’m really glad we got the model with the auto empty dock, otherwise I’d imagine the usefulness would be reduced by having to empty it a lot. It can be a bit noisy when it runs an empty cycle, it’s not a prolonged noise.
As said, it won’t replace a full hoover, but the suction is strong enough to remove most stuff from both carpets and hard floors, and it adjusts as it transitions. Certainly the volume left when we run the bigger hoover around is way less.
The battery life probably could be a bit better, but unless your insisting on cleaning multiple rooms in one go, it charges pretty quickly in between and the app is fairly easy to use although I’ve not got the Alexa skill to work.
Overall, pretty good value for money and as said, my only regret is that I waited so long to get one, it’s brilliant and a real time saver.
Overall we’re pleased with the vacuum. I find it best to move items out of the way like chairs and rugs with tassels on before setting it off on a whole house clean.
The ability to identify separate rooms in the app is great and means I can clean specific rooms, not just “all”.
The app is let down, greatly in my opinion, by not being able to save Zones. There is the ability to identify zones in the app – a rug where the dog lies, the dining table where crumbs are dropped, etc – and send the vacuum to clean those zones, and not the entire room. The problem is, they don’t save in the app! Once you leave the Zones tab in the app, those Zones disappear and must be redrawn each time you want to use them.
After contacting Eufy support I don’t feel they understand the issue, and they’ve repeatedly asked for me to send them a log from the vacuum and let them know a time the issue occurs. Not really relevant to my question of “is the expected functionality in the app to be able to save zones or not?”.
So, if I were to save Zones, this would be 5 stars. As it stands, it’s only 4.
Worth mentioning that the vacuum is very quiet, but does a surprisingly good job of picking up bits, Labrador hair, etc. but I’ve found that selecting to clean an area twice (easily done in the app), even in the lowest suction level does a very good clean.
Following up with a quick spray mop (the kind with a microfibre pad on the end) gets great results. We didn’t bother with the vac that mops as well as we’d heard it’s not very good, and a spray mop is much quicker and more effective.
The one I bought was a refurbished unit, and in fairness, it was in near new condition. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to set up through the app, it oriented itself very quickly and found its way around the house to map the area efficiently. The first clean was a little spotty in places, but with tempered expectations and daily use, my floors are now spotless! It manages to climb over surprisingly high obsticles and cleans all of the surfaces it encounters, changing from low suction to high depending on the pile of the carpet. I only wished I bought one sooner!
My fourth purchase of these Eufy robots and the second one I now have of the L60. My first robot was bought over seven years ago and eventually gave up the ghost. I live in a town house so need three, one for each floor as, like Daleks they can’t climb stairs. The older models clean until the battery runs out then head ‘home’ to recharge the battery. The L60 though is superior as it maps out the whole area of the floor and takes less time to vacuum the carpets, doing a brilliant job to keep the house clean. My job is only to empty the bins once or twice a week and occasionally use the supplied tool to remove any hair that’s wound around the roller. Oh yeah, and unfortunately I have to vacuum the stairs myself. I couldn’t live without these though and highly recommend them.
Good value for money and a life save
Mine is a carpeted house and the suction power is so great it cleans my flat effectively. Using for 3 months now and I do not need to worry about vacuuming anymore and saves lot of my time and effort. Maintenance and cleaning the machine is very easy. Great value for money.
