Three armed men are being hunted after a car was hit several times in Glasgow[1], in what police have described as a "targeted attack".

Police were alerted to the incident on the M74 eastbound, at the junction with Polmadie Road, after the vehicle was hit on the off slip at around 12.10am today (Saturday, June 16).

A dark blue Renault Clio deliberately crashed into a silver Nissan Micra, Police Scotland said. Three men then got of the Clio with weapons and attacked the Renault, causing damage.

The Clio then followed the Micra, where more deliberate collisions happened on Polmadie Road and Aikenhead Road. There were no reports of injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing to trace the Clio and its occupants.

Detective Inspector Stephen Greenshields said: "We believe this was a targeted attack on the Micra driver and I'm appealing to the public for help to trace those responsible.

"I'm particularly keen to speak to drivers who were in the area around the time and may have seen what happened.

I'd also ask those with dash-cam, private CCTV or doorbell footage around Polmadie Road and Aikenhead Road, to review this for anything which may assist our enquiries."

Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 0032 of 13 June.
