Easy Installation and Reliable Performance
This AUTO-VOX solar-powered wireless reversing camera perfectly meets my needs. After using it for a while, I’m quite satisfied with its overall performance, hence the four-star rating. What attracts me most is its incredibly simple installation process. Following the instructions, it only takes a few minutes to complete, requiring no complicated tools, no wiring, and no drilling into the vehicle. For someone like me who doesn’t want to tamper with the vehicle’s original structure, this design is truly convenient. After installation, the overall appearance is neat and doesn’t affect the vehicle’s aesthetics. Furthermore, it’s relatively easy to handle if disassembly or vehicle replacement is needed later. In actual use, the 6-inch 1080P display’s image quality is better than I expected. The daytime image is clear, and obstacles behind the vehicle, parking lines, and the surrounding environment are all clearly visible. It’s perfectly adequate for daily reversing and parking. What I’m particularly satisfied with is the wireless signal performance; the dual-antenna design definitely works. I mainly use it on my pickup truck, and occasionally connect it to a trailer. During normal use, the image transmission is quite stable, with no frequent disconnections or noticeable delays. Compared to some wireless camera products I’ve used before, the connection stability of this system is much more reassuring. The color night vision function is also a plus. When reversing in a garage or dimly lit parking lot at night, you can still clearly see what’s behind you. While it’s not exactly the same as during the day, it’s practical enough to assist with reversing. I also really like the solar charging design. It automatically replenishes the power when the vehicle is parked outdoors, reducing the hassle of frequently removing it to charge. The battery life is also good; under normal use, you don’t always have to worry about the battery. For users who frequently tow trailers, RVs, or need to install the vehicle in special locations, this combination of wireless and solar power is indeed very convenient.
A gem of a reversing camera aid.
I bought one of these to put on the back of the caravan to help me when reversing (solo) onto a pitch that has hedges or other hazards at the rear, I found it really useful as I could see where the rear was in relation to the hazards. There was no wiring required, straight out of the box and working within minutes and the video was very clear, very impressed and would highly recommend.

This backup camera is exceptional. I installed it on my 2004 Chevy Silverado and it makes parallel parking and backing out of parking spaces so much easier. I also like the screen size and clarity. Installation was a snap, so much easier than running wires from the dash to the license plate.

In my testing, this AUTOVOX solar wireless backup camera system feels extremely well built and carefully engineered, both in hardware quality and overall design. The nodrill mounting approach makes installation straightforward, since I can attach the camera to the license plate area and secure it without running long video cables through the vehicle. The included 6inch screen provides a clear 1080P image that is large enough to judge distance accurately while remaining compact enough not to obstruct the windshield or clutter the dashboard.
I pay particular attention to the solar charging and wireless link, and both perform reliably in my experience. The integrated solar panel maintains the camera’s battery during normal outdoor use, which reduces how often I need to connect a TypeC cable for manual charging. The dualantenna wireless connection delivers a stable live view with no meaningful dropouts during my tests, which is important when backing up or monitoring rear traffic at speed. Color night vision also works well; after dark, the image remains bright and in color, which makes it easier to see obstacles and judge distance compared to typical lowresolution systems.
I find the 1080P image quality very helpful when aligning with parking lines or checking clearance to a garage wall, and the wide field of view improves awareness of objects and vehicles in the backup path. The system also includes DVR recording, which automatically captures rearview footage while driving or reversing, providing useful evidence in the event of a minor collision or parking lot incident.
Overall, this solarpowered AUTOVOX backup camera system performs exactly as I expect from a premium wireless solution, and I recommend it based on its clear image quality, easy installation, and excellent value for money in my testing.

I had a previous version which had add on Solar panel .
The good:
I found this camera much better as solar panel is enclosed.
The field is wider with higher definition.
Easy 2 minute installation. Take off number plate. Attach enclosed 3M double sided patch to the back of number plate. Attach metal bracket. Then reattach the number plate then reattach the camera and screw it in. You can turn the camera to face up or down about 30 degrees on either direction.
Connect the screen to usb A power port or use the enclosed Car power adapter USB A / USB C.
You can mirror the image to face up or down. And can pair another camera ( although I couldn’t try this feature as only one camera and didn’t pair with my earlier model camera).
The power cable has a button you press to activate the camera and you have options to have camera on from 2 minutes to always on.
Size a bit bulky and will definitely be noticeable. But trade off is completely wireless reversing camera. Can be removed very easily when needed.
Good signal even without added antennas. However my car is SUV not a van or camper van that may benefit from extra antennas.
Negative:
1- Wide view sideways but less so in vertical plane. So may limit reversing distance visibility unless camera is mounted very high and pointed very low.
2- Button to activate camera is very close to USB A end do if power port is hidden away. It will be tricky to activate.

Great wireless backup camera
This is a very nice backup camera. Easy to install, easy to use. The image is very clear, and the screen is large enough to see well, but not so big that it is blocking your view out the windshield. The inline button is a nice feature and makes it simple to turn the camera on when you need to. It works well at night which is a huge plus. The solar charging is fantastic. I highly recommend this camera.
No-drill solar rear camera, clear night vision for trucks
Great wireless solar backup camera! Easy license plate mount with no drilling. Stable signal on highways, sharp 1080P night vision and built-in DVR. Solar charging works perfectly, totally worth buying.
Excellent reverse camera
I’ve had one of their reverse cameras in the past and was very pleased with it. When I needed a new one and saw the dual setup I didn’t hesitate.
Setup was very easy and I really like the solar aspect t of it.
The screen is very clear and a good size.

My new 6 Solar reversing can by Auto-Vox
I recently installed this reversing cam as an upgrade to my exsiting Auto-Vox solar camera set up. I have been more than happy with my old camera but wanted something with a larger screen to help my ageing eyes. Now fully installed, it is terrific. The 16:9 screen format along with the 6″ wide screen now gives me real detail when I am manouveing. My vehicle is a campervan and although I can reverse using my mirrors, this is a real help especially when parking or backing up to walls, bollards etc. Even when I want to see what is behind me while driving, it’s great. On my previous camera which was similar, I never had to recharge it as the solar facility kept it topped up but it is parked outside where it is light by day.
Installation is perfect for anyone that does not want to or cannot run wires to a reversing camera. I never thought that I would ever be able have one until I discovered this solar concept that communicates with the monitor by wireless transmission. You simply plug the monitor into the vehicle’s cigar lighter plug, pre-charge the camera and you are away. The camera mounts by simply unscrewing the rear number plate and affixing the camera bracket with the double sided tape provided in the box. I modified the bracket on my camera as the numberplate on my vehicle is to one side. The monitor mount was previously the sucker type but now uses double sided tape which is really secure. Fitting does only take a couple of minutes but any cable management does take longer, common sense really. When approaching a situation where you want the camera, simply tap the inline switch. All in all, I am delighted with my new camera setup and wholeheartedly recommend this brilliant Auto-Vox product. I should also add that their customer service is incredible.
