This camera certainly fulfilled all my expectations.
It arrived well packed with everything needed to fit it to my car. A nice touch was a proper instruction booklet in 4 different languages, including “proper” English.
Before fitting I tried it out indoors to check everything was working. I put the camera on charge using the supplied USB-A – micro USB cable and charging was confirmed with a small red LED which turns green when fully charged. The monitor plugs into the supplied 12V car adaptor which also contains a useful USB-A socket for other accessories as well as the activation button. With everything connected up I switched on the camera and within a couple of seconds I had a clear picture. No setting up was necessary, it just worked.
The unit is designed to switch off the picture after a number of seconds which you can change in the menu system between 45 and 120 sec. Also, the picture can be inverted up and down and left and right.
Fitting to the car is easy, just temporarily remove your number plate, stick the camera bracket to the back of the number plate with the supplied adhesive pad and refit the number plate. The camera is attached to the mounting plate with a small screw. The necessary Allen key is also supplied. The monitor is clipped to the supplied mounting bracket which is fixed either to the windscreen or suitable smooth flat surface on the dashboard. Plug in the power adaptor and that’s it.
The picture is clear and bright but both brightness and contrast can be adjusted. Importantly as different vehicles have different shaped rear ends, the camera can be swivelled up of down to get the correct angle.
I also tried it on my motorhome and had no trouble with getting a perfect picture, even at the greater distance involved.
Be aware that it is not linked in any way to the reverse gear of the car so you do need to press the button on the power adaptor to activate it. Using it a few times a day the suggested battery life is a couple of months between charges. All in all I’m very pleased with it.
Bought this recently to fit on our Mazda as it’s a struggle to reverse into tight spaces at times due to poor visibility from the driving position. The device consists of the solar panel, battery and camera as a single sealed unit and a display with holder and 12V power plug. The unit was easy to fit, I removed the rear licence plate and used some rubbing alcohol to clean the back of the plate before sticking the camera unit on with the provided double sided tape. I offset the unit position on the plate so that the camera itself was in the middle as you can see from the picture. I fitted the display unit low and on the passenger side of the central console. The display holder is robust and is holding well on the side of the console. I have the default guidelines set on the display but these can be changed through the menu. To use the reversing camera you just press the button on the 12V power plug in unit and the display will come on for a set time before turning off to save battery life on the camera unit. I have it set for 90 seconds which is ample for parking but if you need to you can always press the button again if you need more time or set it for a longer period to 120 seconds. The camera as an up down adjustment so that you can set it just right for your vehicle. The picture quality is good for the task of reversing and the guide marks on the display are helpful for judging distance. This is a great reversing camera, which is very easy to fit, performs well and provides a good image. I am very pleased with this unit and I can highly recommend it for anyone wishing to add this safety feature to their vehicle that makes parking so much easier.
This product does everything it says, easy to set up and use. It has a clear screen for excellent visibility.
Bracket to secure to vehicle ok if using the supplied twin stick tape, if fixing with screws for a more security the holes in the bracket are not ideal.
After weeks of use, I can confidently say this product has exceeded my expectation. It is an absolutely brilliant piece of kit that solves the main issue of installing it without having to link it to the reverse gear.
Quality of the view is excellent and very functional
I fitted it to my Volvo V70 and the durability and signal quality has been spot on.
Though, I don’t use my car every day, I have yesterday had to charge it so the battery life has been very good.

Excellent camera
I recently purchased the AUTO-VOX 6 Inch Solar Wireless Backup Camera, and this is actually my second AUTO-VOX camera. I bought my first one a while ago and was so satisfied with the performance and reliability that I decided to buy another one to install on my trailer.
One of the best things about this system is how easy it is to install. The claim of a 2-minute installation is pretty accurate. Since it’s solar and wireless, there’s no complicated wiring to deal with. That made it perfect for my trailer.
The 6-inch 1080P monitor provides a very clear and sharp image, both during the day and at night. The live view is stable, and I like the option of dual-channel split screen, which makes it possible to connect another camera if needed.
Another big plus is the IP69K waterproof rating, which is important for trailers that are exposed to rain, dust, and road conditions. The DVR recording feature is also a nice bonus for extra safety.
Overall, I’m very happy with this camera system. The build quality is solid, the image quality is excellent, and the installation is incredibly simple. Reversing camera
I bought this camera as my current car didn’t have one. I enquired at the garage to have a wired one fitted and it was going to cost 500. I was also told that if they fitted one it could affect the warranty on the car.
It was so easy to install and had good clear vision. However after 6 months after charging it would not switch on again. I contacted auto vox who were quick to respond to my email. They gave me instructions to try to get it to work but it still failed to switch on..
Again l contacted customer service and they said they would send me a new camera. It arrived a few weeks later from China.
After refitting the new camera it worked perfectly. Even though I had bother with this camera l would still recommend it as l was very impressed with auto vox customer service. They were quick to respond and so helpful.
Einfache und unkomplizierte Installation ohne Verkabelungsaufwand.
Ich habe schon ein Kamerasystem von Auto- Fox und zwar die W7 5″ LCD Kabelloses digitales Rckfahrkamera Set. Benutze sie fr die Kombi mit meinem Wohnwagen.
Dieses System (Kamera) bentigt aber eine Stromverbindung fr den Sender am Wohnwagen, entweder ber die Rckfahrleuchte (Bild kommt beim Einlegen des Rckwrtsganges), oder wie ich es gemacht habe ber das Standlicht. Damit kann ich bei eingeschaltetem Standlicht auch whrend der Fahrt sehen was hinter mir passiert.
Allerdings habe ich ab und zu durch die Gesamtlnge der Fahrzeuge Bildaussetzer und Bildverzgerungen.
Da ich mehrere Anhnger habe und etwas flexibler sein wollte habe mir die AUTO-VOX Dual Rckfahrkamera Kabellose Solar: 6″ 16:9-HD Display, mit zwei Antennen bei Amazon bestellt.
Erst einmal sehr schnelle Lieferung!
Die Kameras mit Bildschirm sind in einem Karton eingepackt und machen erst einmal einen guten Eindruck.
Habe als erstes die Akkus der Kameras vollgeladen.
Da schlechtes Wetter war und ich die Kameras gleich ausprobieren wollte habe ich die Kameras im 1 Stock des Hauses verteilt (CAM 1 vorne zur Strae hin; Cam 2 hinten zum Garten)
Da der Bildschirm mit 5V Versorgung betrieben wird (USB-Anschluss) reichte die Stromversorgung vom Handyladegert. Der Bildschirm (im Wohnzimmer EG) liefert ein echt gutes Bild von beiden Kameras ohne irgendwelche Verzgerungen oder Ausflle im Einzel- oder Dualmodus. Beim Dualmodus sind die Bilder etwas zusammengequetscht,
was aber fr die berwachung nicht gerade groartig strtman kann ja umschalten!
Die Einrichtung der Kameras am Bildschirm ist einfach. Habe eine Speicherkarte eingelegt, formatiert und die Aufnahme gestartet. (Allerdings sind die Aufnahmen nicht Windows kompatibel, Ansicht der Aufnahmen sind am Bildschirm aber einwandfrei mglich)
Die Laufzeit der Kameras kann man vorwhlen120s, 240s oder immer an.
Hier wre es schner, wenn man die Zeit selber vorgeben knnte.
An diesem Tag versuchsweise 3 Std. aufgenommenBalkenanzeige (3 Balken) immer noch voll.
Am 2ten Tag nochmal 3,5 Std. aufgenommen, Balkenanzeige jetzt 1 Balken weniger.
Am 3ten Tag bei gutem Wetter war der Akku wieder voll..(Kamera war aus)
Eine dauerhafte Stromversorgung ist nicht unbedingt ntig, die Cam wird durch die PV-Panels wieder aufgeladennatrlich bei entsprechendem Wetter. Wie lange der Akku bei nicht Dauerbetrieb hlt wei ich noch nicht aber ziemlich lange!
Falls ein Akku aber mal komplett leer sein sollte msste man den Akku extern laden, heit eine USB-C Stromversorgung nach auen legenist nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten (die beiliegenden USB-C Kabel sind zu kurz). Ich wrde eine Powerbank empfehlendie kann man beim Fahrzeug vorne unter die Haube, hinten in den Kofferraum legen ohne dass die Kabel beschdigt wrdenmit Klett unterm Anhnger oder Wohnwagen.
Schade ist eigentlich, dass man die Kameras von der Halterung nicht einfach abziehen kann.wre mit dem Laden und dem Umstecken auf ein anderes Fahrzeug einfacher.
(Muss mir fr die Anbringung an den 2ten Hnger was einfallen lassen)
Ansonsten ist der grte Vorteil dieses Systems ist die denkbar einfache Anbringung am Fahrzeug. Die Montage ist wirklich einfach und geht schnell.
Da das System solarbetrieben und kabellos ist, entfllt jeglicher komplizierte Verkabelungsaufwand. Genau das macht es zur perfekten Lsung fr meine Anhnger/Wohnwagen.
Alles in allem bin ich mit diesem Kamerasystem uerst zufrieden, ich wrde sie daher jedem uneingeschrnkt empfehlen, der auf der Suche nach einer unkomplizierten und zuverlssigen Rckfahrkamera fr Pkw, Lkw, Wohnwagen oder Anhnger ist.
Stabile Bildbertragung und einfache Montage.
Ich habe die AUTO-VOX Solar-Rckfahrkamera fr meinen Renault Twizy gekauft. Obwohl der Twizy sehr klein und wendig ist, ist die Sicht nach hinten beim Rangieren und Einparken nicht optimal. Gerade in engen Parklcken oder auf belebten Parkpltzen fehlte mir oft die ntige bersicht.
Ein groer Kaufgrund war fr mich die einfache Installation. Ich wollte auf keinen Fall Kabel durch das Fahrzeug verlegen oder stundenlang an der Elektrik arbeiten. Die Montage war tatschlich in wenigen Minuten erledigt. Kamera befestigen, Monitor anbringen und einschalten — viel einfacher geht es kaum. Der 12V USB Stecker hat zwei Ausgnge, so dass man keinen Anschluss verliert. Sehr praktisch wenn man nur eine 12V Steckdose am Fahrzeug hat. Das Solarpanel macht die Lsung zustzlich praktisch, da man sich kaum um das Laden kmmern muss. Sollte dies ntig sein, geht das ganz einfach ber den USB C Anschluss der Kamera.
Besonders beeindruckt hat mich die digitale Bildbertragung. Ich war zunchst etwas skeptisch, ob eine kabellose Rckfahrkamera zuverlssig funktioniert, wurde aber positiv berrascht. Das Bild wird stabil und ohne sprbare Verzgerung bertragen. Selbst whrend der Fahrt oder in Bereichen mit vielen Funkquellen hatte ich keine Aussetzer, Strungen oder Bildrauschen. Die Verbindung wirkt deutlich hochwertiger als bei lteren Funkkameras, die ich bereits ausprobiert habe.
Auch die Bildqualitt berzeugt. Das Display liefert ein klares und scharfes Bild, wodurch Hindernisse, Bordsteine oder andere Fahrzeuge gut zu erkennen sind. Dadurch fhle ich mich beim Rckwrtsfahren deutlich sicherer und entspannter.
Positiv hervorheben mchte ich auerdem den Kundenservice. Bei einer Rckfrage zur optimalen Positionierung der Kamera habe ich schnell eine freundliche und hilfreiche Antwort erhalten. Es ist beruhigend zu wissen, dass bei Fragen oder Problemen jederzeit ein kompetenter Ansprechpartner zur Verfgung steht und man nicht allein gelassen wird.
Nach mehreren Wochen Nutzung bin ich sehr zufrieden mit dem System. Fr meinen Renault Twizy ist die Kamera eine echte Alltagserleichterung geworden. Die Kombination aus schneller Installation, zuverlssiger digitaler Funkbertragung, guter Bildqualitt und freundlichem Support macht das System fr mich zu einer klaren Empfehlung.
