I am a big fan in general of the technology that allows phone screens to be mirrored within vehicles and this ‘Car Tablet’ is the perfect way of doing this without having to actually install and hardware within the car. On the surface it looks like a glorified Sat Nav but the reality is that this is a powerful screen which can interact with both Apple phones via CarPlay or Android phones via Android Auto.
In short you have a Bluetooth device that connects to a phone and offers the full phone experience from a larger screen within the car. You can use it to play your phones music through the car speaker system, use Google maps, read and answer messages on the go or even watch YouTube videos or movies during a rest stop. The options are endless and the quality is really good.
It comes with a good suction cup for the window and the 7″ screen is clear and responsive.

Makes my old motor feel mode
I stuck this little 7 inch CarPlay screen on the dashboard of my battered Fiesta last week, and my commute has felt ten years newer already. No drilling, no swear jar required.
Setup happened during a post night shift haze, phone connected over Bluetooth before the kettle even boiled, maps glowing on the IPS panel at 1024 x 600. And because it’s wireless Android Auto I no longer fight with a cable that always knots itself around the handbrake, small victory but it counts.
Proper test came on the school run yesterday. Reversing camera flicked on as I edged into an impossibly tight spot outside Lily’s nursery, wide angle view saved my bumper and possibly a teacher’s ankle. Meanwhile the kids were chanting Baby Shark, Spotify streamed cleanly through the AUX link and the labrador just looked confused, poor lad.
So yes, I’m keeping it, jam smear and all (note to self, wipe it before hubby sees), because anything that makes traffic jams feel like a sing along is welcome in my life.

This is a wireless CarPlay screen in 7″ size. It connects via my mobile phone Bluetooth and WiFi. It so easy to set up and is really a plug it in and your all set and ready.
This is much better quality than I was expecting for the price range. The screen itself has great resolution which is very visible which is sharp and clear and is quickly responsive with each press of the touchscreen with no loss of connection.
Included in the box is the adjustable arm screen mount where I am able to heighten, lower and also tilt the angle.
Connects to phone perfectly and the sound is obviously very good as it comes from my car speakers via the supplied AUX cable wire.
A Game-Changer for My ca
I wanted a dash-attached screen in my car for navigating with my phone apps, and this was a great way to get that. I went to a big box electronics store to get an estimate for installing a carplay-compatible head unit in my vehicle and it would have cost at least 700 or more. So, getting all of these features for about 40 is a bargain. I’ve been using it for close to a year and have had no problems.
I didn’t want to stick an adhesive mount to my dash so I purchased a DVD-slot mount separately and this unit mounts directly to that using the same 4-prong mount on the back of the unit.
by far the biggest challenge was mounting and connecting the rear camera. I had to fashion a small metal plate that attaches to the license plate screws, and I had to strip and tap into a reverse light power to send power to the reverse camera, but now the reverse view turns on when I go into reverse, and I love having that too. I have a pickup and the tailgate limited my rear camera mounting options, but if you have a car you’ll have more mounting options and probably easier access to accessing power and routing your wire to the head unit. But, if you don’t care about installing the rear camera, you can have this thing mounted to your dash and ready to use in just a few minutes.
I have the unit powered with the accessory power plug that came with it and I used twist ties to organize the power cable, the 3.5mm aux output and the rear camera cable as best I could. If you are a stickler for not having a bunch of wires hanging on your dash you might invest some effort into cable organizing.
I set up this screen in my car and linked it to my iPhone. The first time I connected them took only a few seconds, and now it links up automatically every time I start the car. I have not experienced any connection problems, and apps like Waze and Apple Music run just fine. The screen is clear and easy on the eyes, and moving between different screens feels fast and smooth with no stuttering. The screen does not need a hard press. A quick light touch is all it needs. Getting it set up was straightforward, and the sound comes in clearly, with only a very slight bit of static near big buildings that is hardly noticeable. The microphone is good enough that people cannot tell I am using it. Also, the mounting parts included with the screen worked fine for me, as the suction cup and adhesive pad held the device securely in place without any trouble. All in all, this has been a great addition to my car.
Brought my old motor up to date
Finally, my ageing Mondeo has stumbled into the twenty first century. This seven inch CarPlay screen clipped onto the dash in minutes, no screws, no drama, and suddenly Google Maps was talking sense rather than yelling from a phone wedged in the cup holder.
I paired my Pixel over Bluetooth, the panel found it faster than my eight year old finds biscuits. Maps sprang up at full 1024 x 600 resolution, colours stay bright even when the low February sun slants through the windscreen. And the moment I tap reverse the IP65 rated camera flicks on, wide angle view filling the glassy display, which saved my bumper from my neighbour’s wheelie bin yesterday no complaints from me. I funnelled audio through the aux input to the factory speakers, playlists sounded clean, not a whisper of hiss even with the kids arguing behind me and the dog howling along.
So yes, it does exactly what I wanted, keeps cables down, makes the drive feel less prehistoric. If only it folded washing too.
Top value upgrade for old moto
For the record, my ageing Civic’s dash looked prehistoric until I plonked the 11.5 inch Car Tablet Pro Max 2026 on it last Thursday during the school run.
One cig lighter, one Bluetooth handshake, and Apple Maps stretched across that roomy IPS screen, 1920 by 720 pixels of Dundee to Aberdeen glowing nicely. The wireless CarPlay link is solid, no cable spaghetti, even when the four year old found it hilarious to thrash her legs near the leads. And voice commands cut through Paw Patrol karaoke from the back seats, so credit where it’s due, though the dog just looked confused.
I’m loving the 4K front cam, caught a seagull photobombing at the Tay Bridge and the clip was crystal. Shift into reverse, the 1080P rear view pops up and spares my neighbour’s bin daily. But the built in speaker is a bit tinny, I still pipe sound through FM. Value wise, seeing as I dodged fitting a new head unit, I’d buy it again tomorrow.
