Hard to beat for the price for a 24v uni
I bought this to replace an existing unit in a Iveco horse lorry so we could use Bluetooth for music and satnav directions from my phone with the existing speakers in the cab. The lorry is a 24v system and this was one of the few units I could find that said it would accept this input voltage without having install a voltage converter or spend a couple of hundred pounds on a dedicated 24v unit. I was nervous though that it would actually work given the very low price and was almost expecting it to meltdown when plugged in. However, it worked first time! Installation was a snap, plugging straight into the existing wiring harness and aerial connection and the Bluetooth connection also worked first time without issue. Yes, ok the plastics are cheap and the remote provided seems pointless as I don’t see how you are supposed to install it to anything with its little stretchy loop so we’ll just stick it to the dash as the unit sits up in the roof of the cab. The only other thing I noticed is that runs warm. Within a few minutes the heat sink on the back was very warm to the touch so we’ll have to see how it goes once secured into place. Otherwise it sounds fine, goes plenty loud enough for our needs and you can’t beat it for the price.
