Part of M8 in Glasgow to close for several weeks next month

In order to undertake an essential parapet repairs on the M8 at Junction 15 from Sunday, May 31 until Sunday, June 28, 2026. The closure will take place between 8pm until 6am each night. The works are set to benefit vehicles using the route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway structure.

Image of motorway (Image: Archive) The work will require an overnight total closure of the Eastbound carriageway from May 31 until June 14 and as well as lane closures on the Westbound carriageways from June 14 until June 28. The overnight closures will also include total closures of Junction 15 Eastbound on-slip (Castle Street) and the westbound off-slip (Castle Street).

Diversions will be in place.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout the works.

Amey, who are taking on the work on behalf of Transport Scotland[1], have thanked drivers in advance for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
