M5 police stops at Strensham Services as cars seized

The checks took place on the northbound side of the M5 at Strensham Services and were carried out by police from the Operational Patrol Unit, working with other partners. Photos, shared by West Mercia Roads Policing, show cars, including an Audi, being taken away on recovery vehicles. Officers stopped 22 vehicles and issued eight prohibitions, including three for unsafe loads, three for excessively tinted glass, one for no seatbelt, and one for a defective tyre.

In total, 22 vehicles were stopped resulting in:

  • 8 prohibitions
  • 4 no insurance
  • 3 seizures
  • 8 vehicles overweight
  • 1 otherwise in accordance with licence
  • 1 no numberplate and in a restricted lane
  • 3 excessively tinted glass
  • 4 tacho offences
  • 3 unsafe loads
  • 1 no seatbelt
  • 1 defective tyre
