The M6 northbound near Warrington is currently closed after a crash. Emergency services were called to the scene of a four-car crash on the evening of Saturday, May 23.

Traffic management system INRIX first reported the crash at around 8.35pm. It said the M6 northbound is closed due to an accident, which involved four cars.

The motorway is closed from J21 A57 Manchester Road (Woolston) to J21A M62 (Croft Interchange).

National Highways also reported traffic is being held on the motorway between J21 Warrington[1] and J21A. Emergency services are on scene and recovery is underway. Delays are in excess of 30 minutes with two miles of congestion on the carriageway, said highways.

Motorway cameras show long queues of traffic on approach to J21 tonight.
