Celebrities who have visited legendary Tebay Services on the M6

King Charles III, when he was the Prince of Wales, made an official visit to the station on April 6, 2022, for its 50th anniversary, engaging with staff and local producers, and sampling some of the local cheese. In 2024, he stopped at Tebay on his way from Scotland to Manchester for the band's homecoming shows, describing it as "the Rolls Royce of services," a comment that quickly went viral. (Image: Roundhouse) Comedian Frank Skinner has also spoken positively about the services.

In October 2023, he appeared on BBC's The One Show with Clare Balding and Coleen Rooney, enthusiastically recounting the presence of a farmer's market. Clare Balding, the sports broadcaster, shared that she makes trips to Tebay even when not travelling on the motorway. Television presenters Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford included Tebay in a segment on This Morning, discussing what makes the services special with the head butcher and buyer.

Ruth shared a personal anecdote of stopping there during a trip to Ireland with Eamonn. The appeal of Tebay Services has even crossed the Atlantic. Cara, from the American YouTube channel Magic Geekdom, visited in early 2026 after viewer recommendations during a trip to Cumbria.

She praised the farm shop produce and compared the station favourably to a Cotswolds farm shop. The concentration of celebrity endorsements is notable given Tebay's remote location on the M6 near Penrith[1]. It has been ranked among the top two motorway services in the UK by Which?, and the celebrity attention has helped cement its status as a genuine destination rather than just a motorway pit stop.

The unique appeal of the station, which includes farm shop produce and a farmer's market, continues to draw famous faces, contributing to its growing reputation as a standout service station.
