Road closure set to affect major road in the Sedbergh area
The planned closure, scheduled on May 10, is to allow utility work to be carried out. The affected stretch extends approximately 260 metres west from its junction with the U5515. For non-motorway traffic, a diversion is due to be in place via the A684, A683, and B6256.
Officials say motorway traffic will be redirected via the A684, A683, A65, and M6. The council stated that appropriate traffic signs will indicate the alternative routes on site. The closure is part of a wider set of roadworks planned across the South Lakeland area.
Pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will still be able to use the road during the closure.
Any questions regarding the works can be directed to the Highways Hotline on 0300 373 3306 or via the Westmorland and Furness Council website, quoting the relevant reference numbers.
