    Old car feels years younge
Item received in good condition in a branded box. I thought my ageing Mondeo was destined to feel dated forever, yet this car play screen has dragged it into the present. Fitting it to the dash was laughably quick, I was sticking it in place while the children were already shouting their song choices, and we had not even reversed off the drive.

The 10.26-inch 1080p IPS display sits wide but low, so it never blocks the speedometer. Inside you get cordless CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth 5.0, an auxiliary output, an FM transmitter and a 720p reversing camera, all powered from the cigarette lighter. No splicing loom, no trim removal, nothing.

My iPhone paired faster than the seat-belt warning could ding. Phone calls sound clean through the car speakers when I use the auxiliary lead, and Siri understands me first time through the built-in microphone. Maps swipe along as smoothly as on the phone itself, and the rear camera stays clear, even when salt spray is flying round the harbour road. The adhesive mount has remained rock solid over the town’s potholes and has held firmly in place since.

Between the bright screen, the surprisingly solid casing and the utter lack of wiring hassle, this gadget has given my old Ford a brain transplant. For everyday journeys it feels like I am driving something five years younger, and that is money well spent.

Excellent choice to add updated SatNav with CarPlay or Android Auto to older cars
I chose this Carpuride V92R Portable Carplay Screen with Wireless Carplay & Android Auto to enable me to use on my older BMW which does not have an updated navigation or car play support. This kit comes with a simple installation either to the dashboard or on the windscreen. I opted to fit it to the dashboard where it is a little less of a theft target. Powered from the cigarette lighter is one option and makes it easy to move from vehicle to vehicle but if you socket is always powered it is better to wire directly to an ignition linked feed behind the dash. Once in place and powered up it was a doddle to connect my iPhone to this screen thanks to Bluetooth and CarPlay. I found I can happily use maps from Google, Apple or Waze for navigation and still get to my spotify playlists. The touchscreen is a good one, even if it feels a little wide initially, but that extra space is great when you have two apps on screen at the same time.

My old radio had an aux input so I plugged the sound from this in to that, bingo sound through the car speakers – an easy win.

One of the added benefits of this pack is the reversing camera. It was a helpful addition though it took me a while to neatly run the cable from the back to the front of the car. Not a fault of the Carpuride display, more BMW’s love of many clips to the interior trim.

For the price, just under 90, it is cheaper than a satnav map upgrade on many cars, and it does so much more so it is certainly well worth the money.

10.26 Touchscreen, Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto, 720p Reversing Camera
I bought this to add CarPlay to a car without a built-in screen, and it’s a great upgrade for my day-to-day driving.

The 10.26 inch display is a great size, it’s easy to see maps at a glance and the touchscreen feels responsive.

Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto is the main win, no plugging in every time, it just connects and you’re ready to go.

The reversing camera is a useful extra for parking, and it’s nice having it included in the kit rather than buying one separately.

Installation was fairly straightforward with the dash mount, and once it’s positioned properly it feels stable and doesn’t wobble about.

It’s a practical, good value way to modernise an older car, especially if you want navigation and hands-free features on a bigger screen.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat if your car did not come with Car Play / Android Auto
If your car did not come with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay from the factory then the Carpuride V92R Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto is a great option. The best way to describe it is like a 10.26″ Android tablet that mounts to your windscreen or dash like a sat nav, although it is more powerful and offers much more functionality.

The unit is well made, and the screen is bright and responsive to touch. The mounting suction cup is strong and secure. There is also a vent mount adapter included, but this was not suited to my dashboard.

I set mine up in a Ford with the built-in Sync 2 system and connected it to my Android phone. The hardest part of the setup was finding the best place to mount it. Connection was straightforward and once paired you can change the audio output in the settings so sound plays through the car speakers. My steering wheel controls still work when listening to music and making phone calls.

The only issue I have is that the 12V socket in my car stays live even with the ignition off, so the screen remains on unless unplugged. This is car-specific rather than a fault with the device.

From a cold start, the device takes around 60 seconds to boot and connect. It has connected to my phone and the car’s Bluetooth reliably every time without fail.

For now I am powering it from the 12V lighter socket, but I plan to run a cable from the fuse box and hide it more neatly.

The V92R did come with a reversing camera, but I did not require it.

Overall, it does an excellent job of adding Android Auto or Apple CarPlay to a car. It’s a great option for anyone who wants modern smartphone integration without spending a lot of money upgrading or fitting a third-party head unit.

Overall, Im satisfied with the purchase
A good universal car display, pleasantly surprised me with its quality. The materials and build are noticeably better than cheaper alternatives: the device feels solid and well-made.
Initially, I had an issue connecting Android Auto — the connection would occasionally drop. However, the support team helped resolve the problem quite quickly by providing clear steps, and after following them everything started working properl
Now the connection is stable with no interruptions, and the system is comfortable to use. Overall, I’m satisfied with the purchase.
