Expensive but useful
I was offered this wireless CarPlay adapter to try, and it’s been a real game-changer for my wife’s driving. She finds that using her phone’s Maps through CarPlay is far more responsive and accurate than the car’s built-in navigation, and this adapter makes it effortless. Once we paired it the first time, we just leave it in the USB port and it reconnects automatically whenever she starts the car — directions, music, and calls are all ready without extra steps.
The dual device memory is handy for our household, too, since it remembers both our phones. Switching between devices is smooth, so we don’t need to re-pair every time someone else drives. The connection stays stable during drives, and the audio stays perfectly in sync with the screen, which makes following directions or listening to podcasts much more enjoyable.
I also appreciate the small cube design — it sits neatly in the port without messy cables hanging out. For daily trips, it removes a tiny annoyance that quickly adds up, making CarPlay feel like it should from the start. Functionally, it works very well, though it’s a bit pricier than some cheaper alternatives. For my wife, though, the smoother Maps experience makes it worthwhile.
Low Profile USB-C Android Auto Adapte
I bought this because I was struggling to find a flush-mount Android Auto adapter that used USB-C, and I’m happy to report it works perfectly in my car. The design is impressively low-profile—standing shorter than a typical dice—which allows it to sit flush against the port. This is a huge benefit as it doesn’t dangle by a cable or get caught on anything in the center console.
In terms of performance, it’s been very stable. There is no noticeable lag, and the connectivity is standard for these types of units, meaning it links up reliably every time I start the car. However, I’m not entirely sure why it carries such a high price tag. It functions almost identically to its predecessor, which cost significantly less, so you are definitely paying a premium for that specific flush-mount form factor. If you need a clean, cable-free look, it’s a great piece of kit, though the value for money is only fair.
Fast, Compact Adapter That Makes CarPlay and Android Auto Fully Wireless
This adapter is small, quick to set up and works smoothly once connected. The USB C version feels modern and sturdy, and the cube design keeps it neat in the car. It pairs easily with both iPhone and Android, and the reconnection speed is noticeably fast, even when switching between two devices.
CarPlay and Android Auto run without delay, and the menus respond just like they do when plugged in. Music, calls and maps all work reliably, and the plug and play setup means you only pair it once. After that, it connects automatically every time you start the car.
The compact size makes it easy to leave plugged in without cluttering the dashboard, and the silver finish looks clean and stylish.
A sleek, reliable adapter that brings wireless convenience to your car with quick reconnection and stable performance.
Good now
Overall the item now works perfectly without a hitch.
However, when connecting it in the first instance to my Volkswagen T6.1 it kept dropping out within seconds of touching the screen. I was on the verge of returning it until I did a google and found a post on Reddit stating an update is available for the device. “connect phone to the device’s WiFi, open safari and go to 192.168.1.101 which will be the devices config page. scroll to the bottom and see firmware and update if available”
