A man was taken to hospital with "serious" injuries following a crash on the M56 yesterday, Sunday, April 26. Emergency services were called to the motorway between junction 14 for the Hapsford Interchange and junction 15 for the Stoak Interchange at around 3.35pm following reports of a crash, involving a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a 25-year-old man, was taken to hospital with suspected serious injuries, Cheshire Police said. The force closed part of the M56 while recovery work was ongoing and motorists were told to expect long delays.

The motorway reopened at around 7pm.
