‘Major disruption’ on M42 recap – traffic delays near Birmingham Airport

As well as the incident close to Birmingham Airport and Junction 6, there have also been other delays on this stretch of the M42 before Junction 5.

Traffic information service, Inrix, has said the delays there on the M42 have been caused by an 'obstruction in the carriageway'.

But that obstruction has been removed and those delays prior to Junction 5 are now easing.

Inrix said: "Road cleared and traffic easing, obstruction removed on M42 Southbound before J5 A41 Solihull By-pass (Solihull / Knowle).

"Separate to the earlier incident Northbound."

There still appear to be issues by Junction 6 though - with slow-moving, heavy traffic.
