Versatile car emergency tool with a capable pump
I tested this device with two cars, a Vauxhall Mokka and a Jaguar XF. I have not yet had the opportunity to use the jump-start function, but the setup appears straightforward and intuitive. You plug the jump leads into the top of the unit, connect them to the correct terminals on the battery and then start the vehicle shortly afterwards.
The built-in flashlight works as expected, although the device itself is quite bulky, which makes it less convenient to use as a torch in tighter spaces. In practice, a small keychain light would likely be easier to handle for quick illumination.
The power bank function works very well. I tested it with my iPhone 15 Pro Max and it charged surprisingly quickly, which makes it useful to have in the car during longer trips.
The feature I expect most people will use the most is the air pump, and this is where the device performs particularly well. You can save up to four preset pressures, which makes topping up tyres very easy. Once the desired pressure is saved, you simply select the preset, attach the pump and press start. The pump automatically stops when the set pressure is reached. The system is simple to understand and difficult to misuse.
I checked the pressure readings against my existing pump and found them to be consistent, so I trust the accuracy. The inflation speed also impressed me, as it filled tyres faster than I expected.
My one complaint concerns the connector. It uses the bicycle-style lever clamp connector. While some people prefer this design, I personally find it awkward to operate with one hand and it does not always seal perfectly on the first attempt. I would have preferred a screw-on connector.
Overall, this is a useful and reasonably priced multitool to keep in a vehicle. With jump starting, tyre inflation, charging and lighting functions all in one device, it covers several common roadside needs.
Excellent value for money for such a versatile multi tool
Wow it’s like somebody with logic and brains, thought what would a really good car multi tool look like, and came up with this exceptional bit of kit.
It can start your dead battery, inflate your tyres, charge your mobile and has a torch as well! All this in a device about the same footprint as a mobile phone but thicker, so it’s really compact and easy to store in your car boot, or even the glove compartment.
Initially I had to charge it, but that was super fast in itself and it came with it’s own USB lead. It has a really clear and well defined screen, which is so useful and easy to read, even in the dark.
The “jumper” leads are quite short, about 30cm, but that’s perfect, you don’t need to reach another car anymore. I’ve tried the tyre inflation and that works really well, but fortunately I guess, I haven’t yet needed to use the Jump Start. Looking at the power output for the phone charging and the inflation tool, I’m very hopeful it will do the job well.
I would say this is excellent value for money, it is well made and super versatile.
Every vehicle driver needs one of these.
Driving an older car and having replace the main battery several times over the years, I wanted this unit so I could start the car without calling a friend to jump start from their car. You never know how long you would have to wait for a friendly face to arrive and help you. This unit works very well. It’s easy to use and although I did read the instructions once, it’s almost fool proof to get your battery started again. The bonus as I see it for this very reasonable price is to have the ability to pump up tyres if they’re a little low. I’ve tried this and it works well. You only need set the PSI you need, attach it, press go and it works until your tyre reaches the set target, then it stops. The extra bonus is being able to charge my phone from this unit. I found I could also charge my watch from this unit as well. The flashlight is yet another bonus. I’ve checked it but not really used that outside yet. I don’t know how long the unit will last without its own recharge, but it did take 3 tyres from 26 to 31 psi without any problems and in a just a few minutes. I did think the leads for jumping a battery were short, but the main unit can sit right next to the battery so that isn’t an issue. Surely every car should be given one of these units on delivery. The main readout is easy to read and having both USB A and USB C makes this a great gift. I’ll get more for the family.
