a pretty good dashcam (the two side cameras make it stand out), good value
This is a pretty good dashcam: high resolution facing forward, and two swivel-able side cameras (I’ve never seen a dashcam with side cameras before, beyond cars with cameras built in). The side cams are only 1080p, but the forward cam is 4K, lots of resolution to read license plates (for some reason, the 4K out of this doesn’t seem to match the quality of the 4K out of my mirrorless camera). I can connect to the camera with my phone, and see all the clips, which is great (I’ve not downloaded any yet, the camera isn’t full). I’m still working on running the cables for the rear camera (it’s a lot more challenging than I thought it would be). I’ve read that thi scamera is capable of 24 hour monitoring, but you have to buy an extra kit for that. Nice that it includes a 64GB card, I was able to get going right away. This was priced at only 15.55 when I ordered it, which is a stellar value (but I really don’t know how they can sell a dashcam as featured as this one at that price point).

Spot on clarity and quick setup
Installed this cam on a drizzly Saturday before the weekly supermarket run, my son timed me at 18 minutes though he reckons I cheated by not counting the rear cable tidy up. First impression once the LEDs blinked to life, wow that front 4K lens is sharp. Number plates three cars ahead showed up on the app like they’d been typed in.

The real test came that evening when a fox darted across the lane near Basingstoke. I braked, heard the familiar thud of a tailgater kissing my tow bar, and immediately saw all four angles saved, plus the GPS speed stamp. And the best bit, thanks to the 5 GHz link I pushed the clip to my phone before the chap had even finished practising his colourful vocabulary.

Loop storage, night vision, parking sentry, it just gets on with the job. So my chess clock can stay in my pocket for once, the cam watches the road.

Peace of mind on every drive
My Corsa finally has eyes everywhere and I’m calmer already. Fitting took less time than the kids spend arguing over the last brownie, plug in, stick on, done.

Thursday evening, racing from the ward to nursery pick up (note to self: teach kids to buckle quicker), a white van skimmed my left mirror. The side camera caught his plate clear as day in 1080P while the front lens sat there smugly in 4K. The insurance chap called it “perfect evidence” and I may have done a small victory wiggle.

And that 5 GHz WiFi is grand, I had the clip on my phone before the kettle clicked off. Night shifts mean night drives, the eight IR LEDs keep everything visible on the pitch dark B road by the farm, those wandering sheep have never looked sharper. I haven’t even tried parking mode yet but knowing it’s waiting in the wings feels reassuring.

So yes, the labrador may still chew shoes but at least the car is covered.

    Electric Paddle Board
I stuck this dash cam on the windscreen a few weeks back and promptly got on with life. Yesterday, crawling through the rain toward Year 4 pick-up, a white van skimmed far too close. Later that evening I opened the app over a cuppa, and there it was in glorious 4K front footage plus the cheeky 1080P side view, number plate crisp as a new exercise book. Van man can try his luck with my insurance, I’ve got receipts.

The four channel coverage feels like having mirrors that never blink. And the eight IR LEDs light the cabin better than my courtesy lamp, so the late drive home from yoga is properly covered. I’ve already replayed a fox darting across the lane at midnight, purely because the night detail made it look like Attenborough footage.

Setup wasn’t scary either, surprised myself if I’m honest, the included 64GB card meant plug in, teach the kids their new favourite word “loop recording”, done.

    Peace of mind, sorted.
