Consistent Compares to Others
I have used several of these wireless CarPlay adapters. They are hit and miss on how well they work. Some work great at first and flake out. Others have troubles with connecting. My husband and I both connect to this device. I wish it would allow you to choose which phone to connect to but this one does not. However, this is good at reconnecting to the last phone that was connected and if that phone is not around, it will try to connect to the other phone that it has connected with. There is some lag when this happens, maybe 20-30 seconds. It’s nice that it will continue to try to connect. Only once so far have I had it not connect to my phone.
The device is super small and our car did not have usb c, only usb a. I bought a converter that works for it. Be careful in not all converters work with data transfer and then it won’t work. This device also came with an instruction manual which tell you how to update the software. I have not had another device tell me how to do this before. I did find it needed a software update but it was easy to do and only took a few minutes. Overall I am impressed with this device and would recommend it.

I love this device! My older VW only has plug-in Car Play, and for me I’m just not going to bother plugging it in every time I get in the car so managed with just the standard bluetooth for music and calls unless I needed on-screen navigation.
Well not now. Upon plugging in, this device connected instantly to my phone and there was CarPlay (I just had to reconfigure the app display on my phone but otherwise it was perfect). It has never failed to connect when I get in the car since.
The device, as you can see from the photo, is tiny. I have a little flip up cavity in my console and this takes up way less space than the cord I needed to keep there for the wired connection.
CAVEAT: This device is a USB-C connection. If your car, like mine has USB-A ports, you’ll need an adapter. I got one for about 5 bucks. While the device itself is compact, once you stack it with an adapter it doesn’t feel like the most sturdy or secure connection, but it’s just in the corner of the console nook so it probably won’t get banged into much.
Definitely an upgrade to my car setup. Not sure I would have paid for it had it not been for the Vine offer–I’m not in my car enough to not just live with regular bluetooth; however, if I commuted, took a lot of calls, or otherwise just wanted better access to my phone in the car, this would be a great purchase for that lifestyle and I would definitely recommend it as a purchase for that person.

Wired to wireless CarPlay
I have a wired CarPlay system in my car which works well however wireless is just that bit for convenient. I saw this device and thought I would give it a go.
Setup was very straightforward just following a few simple instructions and connecting up to the phones bluetooth. Once connected this works perfectly. I have a USB-A data port hidden in a little cubby behind the gearstick so the adapter is hidden and discrete. Now I just need to leave my phone in my pocket when I get in the car and it automatically sinks up to CarPlay. No more plugging in and then forgetting and leaving the phone in the car as it is now staying in my pocket.
Once connected I have had no stability issues, the connected seems stable.
If you want to turn your wired CarPlay to wireless then this discrete little device will do that for you. At 79.99 (at the time of writing) this isn’t the cheapest out there but it works well which is all that I can ask of it.

Pequeo pero sper prctico
Este adaptador es de esos accesorios pequeos que terminan siendo sper tiles. Bsicamente lo conectas y ya no tienes que usar cable para conectar el telfono al carro.
Algo que me gust mucho es que se conecta rpido cuando enciendes el carro. No tienes que estar configurndolo cada vez, simplemente entra y ya todo est listo para usar.
Ahora puedo usar el mapa, la msica o las llamadas directamente en la pantalla sin tener el telfono conectado con cable, lo cual hace todo mucho ms cmodo.
Tambin me gusta que es pequeo y no ocupa espacio. Una vez conectado prcticamente ni se nota que est ah.
Hasta ahora ha funcionado muy bien en el uso diario y hace que todo sea ms prctico cuando estoy manejando. Muy buena experiencia con este adaptador.
Very stable and instant connectio
I am a bit confused on for who this product is. I own old version of ottocast for my ’21 qashqai which still requires wire connection with iPhone in order to use apple carplay. I used ottocast which transmit via bluetooth to my car and it works great. I was very excited to try new version, upgraded with better connection etc however to my surprise it came with usb-C connector. Like why? In my head, if car has usb-c port built into car it already has carplay and android auto inside as well without need of any dongle. Only new cars utilise this connector and cars which requires wired connection support usb-A. In order to use it, I had to supply adapter from usb-c to usb-A which missing point and getting weird and bulky.
Despite this weird decision, dongle works so much quicker and better comparing to my old one. Connection is instant, no disconnection, no lagging or stuttering. Start right up when engine is ignited. As adapter, works fantastic, just weird choice of connector.
