Crash involving lorry and van blocks part of M20

An accident involving a lorry and a van blocked a major route. Police were called to a collision on the M20 junction 8 roundabout in Maidstone at 7.04 am this morning.

A spokesperson for the force added: “Patrols and highways officers attended the scene where no injuries were reported and the vehicles were moved from the carriageway. Highway officers remain at the scene to deal with a damaged lamp post.

The London-bound slip road has since reopened after being closed following the accident.

Queues along the A20 are beginning to clear after previously being backed up past Leeds Castle.
