What happened to 3rd Gen CARCAT?

CARCAT -3rd Gen was planned to launch in quarter-1 of 2020. But corona happened. The lockdown gave us time to up our research & development cycle and double the upgrades.

This new cat on the block (4th Gen) has an all-round– Hardware + Firmware + Enclosure upgrade.

Back in 2015 we could have never imagined CARCAT would evolve from just a rat repellent into a more complex rat repellent ‘system’, which also safeguards and monitors the cars battery for optimum use.

This would not be possible without the support and feedback from our valued customers and CARCAT fans.

It’s tough to get rid of rats-

Research shows rats depending on their species, share around 92 to 95% of their working DNA with us, humans. They are very intelligent and extremely territorial animals. No wonder, rats are one of the toughest pest to get rid of.

Rats are one of the most resilient and under estimated creatures on earth. They were here long before any human species walked the earth and they will probably be around long after we are wiped out. No wonder- they are one of the hardest pests to get rid of. There is probablyno 100% way to get rid of them, but with each new upgrade we use that understanding to try and reach closer.

Why do rats love your car’s engine area?

Rats being nocturnal animals come out from their day dens (sewers & gutters) at night in search of food. Your vehicle’s engine area is a safe 2nd home to take food stuff and eat in peace – away from cats / dogs. Post dinner they have a necessary teething need to sharpen the insides of their front incisor teeth. Failing which can be life threatening, cause their incisors grow at a rate of about 3 inches annually. Ensure Proper Installation

• The unit should be mounted on a hard rigid surface and secured tightly to the mounting surface using the screws provided.
• Mounting should be such that the front grill of CARCAT always faces hard metallic / plastic surfaces. (This ensures multiple reflections of ultrasound waves. Ultrasound energy is quickly absorbed by soft materials like foam and rubber, drastically reducing performance.)
• The unit should be mounted away from hot surfaces or engine parts.

Wiring CARCAT-RED to Battery Terminals

1. First remove fuse from fuse holder(F) .
2. Connect (+) connector (J) of CARCAT to (+) of battery.
3. Connect (-) connector (H) of CARCAT to (-) of battery.
4. Use cable ties to tidy up the wiring.
5. Re-insert fuse in fuse holder (F)

Standby time – A normally used healthy battery will typically have no problems for around 15-20 days.

Note:- The battery discharge curve does not include consumption of other equipment / devices

like security systems which are also continuously powered by the battery.

Typical self-discharge rate of 4% per week is considered.

Do's & Dont's To Ensure Maximum Effect & Efficacy With CARCAT-RED – 4th Gen

Clearance From Front Grill For Maximum Effect

Ensure minimum clearance of 20 cm (~8 inches) between front grill of CARCAT and any other engine part.

In case Of Foam Underneath The Bonnet

Do not mount unit facing the bonnet, if it is covered with insulating foam.

CARCAT-RED Should Be Affixed Properly

Never keep CARCAT dangling loose or suspended by its cable.

Do Not Affix Using Double Sided Tape

Never affix CARCAT using a double sided tape. Direct contact with metallic / plastic surface enhances repelling effect.
