Major South Yorkshire road shut after cyclist hit by lorry

This is the latest from National highways about the incident. In a website post it said:"The A616 in South Yorkshire is closed in both directions between the A628 at Flouch and the A6102 at Deepcar due to a serious collision involving a lorry and a cyclist. South Yorkshire Police remain in attendance.
National Highways service providers are assisting with traffic management Diverted traffic may wish to use the A629 and A628, however please note there is a low bridge on the A628 with a 4.1m (13'6") height restriction near Penistone. HGVs should use the M1 and M62.
Due to the nature of the incident, the road is expected to be closed for some time to allow for Police investigation works to take place. If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.
