Live M6 updates as crash leaves motorway ‘blocked’ while A500 queues grow
Emergency services have been called to a crash on the M6 - which has left the motorway 'blocked'. Traffic has come to a halt on the northbound carriageway between Junction 16 and 17. And the incident has seen queues growing on the A500.
National Highways have advised that there are 'long delays building' following the smash. A live map shows traffic is at a stop almost back to Junction 15. There is also bumper-to-bumper traffic on the A500 through Audley.
A spokesperson for National Highways said: "Traffic is stopped on the M6 in Cheshire northbound between Junction and Junction 17 due to a collision. Emergency services are in attendance. Long delays building, please allow extra time for your journey.
Traffic monitoring system Inrix is reporting the northbound stretch is 'blocked'.
