Amazon trucker ‘reported for dangerous driving’ after A500 crash

An Amazon lorry driver has been 'reported for dangerous driving' after a multi-vehicle A500 crash. The driver escaped injury after appearing to career over the Hanchurch roundabout before a collision involving three cars. Two car drivers needed hospital treatment.
The collision closed the southbound A500 - between the Hanchurch and Hanford roundabouts - for 13 hours from 4pm on Sunday, April 6. Now Staffordshire Police[1] are continuing to appeal for witnesses. A police spokesman said: "We were called to the A500 following reports of a collision involving a lorry and three cars.
Officers went to the scene alongside colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service. We closed the road whilst fire crews worked to make the area safe. "The drivers of two of the cars were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The driver and a passenger in the third car were treated at the scene and the driver of the lorry was not injured. The driver of the lorry, a man in his 50s, was reported for dangerous driving. Recovery was arranged for the vehicles."
Any witnesses should call the police on 101, quoting incident number 463 of 6 April.
