Staffordshire M6 reopens after lorry driver death closure
His family is being supported by specialist officers, according to the force.
The male driver of the car, a Toyota Avensis, was treated at the scene for leg and facial injuries before being taken to hospital.
Police said his injuries were not believed to be life changing or life threatening.
National Highways said the incident was cleared and all lanes were reopened at about 15:00 GMT on Friday.
