Live: M5 traffic after crash in Bristol

There was heavy traffic on the M5 this afternoon, Friday, March 21, following a crash near Bristol. One lane of the motorway southbound was currently closed between junction 17 and 18, with slow traffic building. Roads and traffic monitoring site, Inrix, first reported the crash at 3.34pm.

It said: "One lane closed and slow traffic due to accident on M5 Southbound from J17 A4018 (Cribbs Causeway) to J18 M49." The extent of the crash is not known at this stage. Emergency services have been contacted for further information.

The crash cleared by 4.40pm.
