All M6 traffic stopped with long delays after car overturns

Long queues are building on the M6 this afternoon after a car overturned on the motorway. Traffic was held between the M6 Northbound from J18 A54 Middlewich Road (Middlewich/Holmes Chapel) to J19 A556 (Knutsford) following the incident. Two lanes were closed, before traffic officers held all vehicles at 12.50pm.

Travel service Inrix said: "All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to overturned car on M6 Northbound from J18 A54 Middlewich Road (Middlewich / Holmes Chapel) to J19 A556 (Knutsford)." Two lanes reopened on the motorway just after 1pm, however there are still long delays with two lanes shut. A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "At 12.35pm today (17 March) police were called to a two vehicle collision on the M6 between junction 18 and 19 northbound.
