Young man arrested after A30 crash

A man was arrested for drinking driving following a crash on the A30. Devon and Cornwall Police were called to the crash at around 5.35am this morning[1] (Friday, February 14). The crash took place heading westbound at Liftondown and a road closure was put in place.
It involved a car and a lorry but no one was injured. Police have since confirmed that a man, aged in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink and on suspicion of being in possession of a Class B drug. He remains in police custody.
Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a lorry on the westbound carriageway of the A30 at Liftondown, at around 5.35am today, Friday 14 February.
They added: "A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink and on suspicion of being in possession of a Class B drug.
He remains in police custody."
