Wreckage and debris from lorry crash force road closure

Debris was left strewn over the carriageway after a lorry crash on a major route in Devon. Wreckage on the road has caused major delays for drivers this morning, Thursday, February 6. Police were called to the scene of the crash on the A380, near Splatford Split, at around 7.40am[1].

The northbound carriageway was closed after the crash, due to debris on the road. It is not thought that anyone suffered any injuries as a result of the collision. The A380 was closed for around an hour, during rush hour.

At the time of the crash, motorists were facing long delays on the A380. Inrix said: "A380 northbound partially blocked, queueing traffic due to accident at A38 (Splatford Split)." A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police has said: "Police were notified at around 7.40am to Telegraph Hill, Kenn, following reports of a lorry involved in a collision and causing debris on the road.

The road was closed due to debris.

Road was reopened at around 8.40am.

No injuries reported."
