Overturned lorry closes A414 at Eastwick and Gilston junction

Police are warning motorists to avoid the A414 at Eastwick, near Harlow, after a lorry overturned down an embankment. The incident happened during Tuesday morning's rush hour and the westbound carriageway remains closed at the Eastwick and Gilston roundabout. The driver was uninjured.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "Police were called at 8.26am to a report of an overturned lorry on Eastwick Road, Eastwick.

The lorry is being recovered from the scene of the accident on the A414 at Eastwick

"The A414 (westbound) is currently closed and will remain this way for some time while the vehicle is recovered. "The eastbound carriageway has only one lane open. We advise motorists to seek alternative routes.

"There were no reports of injuries to the driver."
