Tragedy as teen driver dies after crash with lorry

A BMW driver has died following a crash with a HGV in Ansty. Warwickshire[1] Police has confirmed that the 19-year-old man, who has not been publicly identified, has lost his life. He was taken to hospital for treatment for serious injuries following the collision on Brinklow Road. But, tragically, the young man passed away.

"We're appealing for witnesses or information following a fatal collision in Ansty on Friday 17 January," the witness appeal states. "At around 7.25am, a white BMW 318d and a DAF HGV were in collision on Brinklow Road.

"Sadly the driver of the BMW - a 19-year-old man - sustained serious injuries and later died in hospital.

His next of kin has been informed.

"If anyone witnessed the collision or has any dashcam footage, please contact Warwickshire Police[4] on 101 quoting incident number 39 of 17 January 2024."
