Long delays on A38 after two lorry crash closes busy route

Drivers on the A38 were warned of delays on Thursday night (January 16) after a crash closed a stretch of the busy route. It followed a collision involving two lorries. The incident was reported at around 2.30pm, according to traffic information service Inrix but long queues were still being reported at rush hour.

It happened northbound between the A5121 (Branston Interchange) and the A5121 (Clay Mills). One lane remained closed at 6.30pm, with traffic information service Inrix saying there were "severe delays". It said there was congestion to routes through Burton as a result and queues along the A38 heading north.
