Three lanes closed on M25 clockwise between J5 and J6 after car fire
A car fire was causing long queues on a stretch of motorway this evening. Three lanes have now reopened on the M25 clockwise between junction 5 for Orpington and junction 6. There were delays of 30 minutes against expected traffic earlier this evening.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "Two fire engines attended and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.
"There were no reported injuries and the cause is believed to be accidental."
Traffic England says normal traffic conditions are expected between 7.30pm and 7.45pm this evening.
