Part of M8 motorway to close for over a week next month

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out essential resurfacing M8 eastbound at Junction 29, including the Junction 29 eastbound off-slip, from Monday, January 20 until Tuesday, January 28, 2025, between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night. In terms of diversions, eastbound M8 traffic will exit at Junction 30, drivers should take the M898 and follow the A726 through Erskine before re-joining the M8 at Junction 29 [St James Interchange]. While southbound traffic from the A898 Erskine Bridge for the eastbound M8 will exit after the bridge onto the A726 and follow the above diversion.

Traffic wishing to join the M8 eastbound at Junction 29A will head east on Greenock Road and join the A726 southbound at Red Smiddy Roundabout to follow the above diversion.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
