Live updates as A15 closed following two lorry crash that killed two
The A15 has been closed in both directions north of Caenby Corner due to a crash[1] involving two lorries. It was reported to Lincolnshire Police[2] shortly after 9.30am on Tuesday, December 24. The collision took place close to the Snitterby junction.
An initial report from police said a car was also involved in the incident but the force later confirmed that it was only between two vehicles. Motorists were asked to avoid the area where possible, with police saying the road would be closed for some time. An update from the force at 10.36am said: "The A15 north of Caenby Corner has been closed following a collision reported to us at 9.33am today (24 December).
The collision is believed to have taken place close to the Snitterby junction and involved two lorries and a car. "Motorists should avoid the area where possible and the road is likely to be closed for some time. Incident 82 of 24 December."
Traffic monitoring site Inrix said in an initial update on the incident: "A15 in both directions closed, slow traffic due to accident, two lorries and a car involved from B1205 Kirton Road (Waddingham) to the A631 ( Caenby Corner, Caenby Corner)."
There is a diversion in place, with heavy goods vehicles being directed down the B1398.
