Hadley Group Improves Fleet Safety and Efficiency with Michelin X Multi Tyres
Smethwick-based Hadley Group has significantly enhanced its fleet's performance and safety by switching to Michelin X Multi tyres across its vehicles. The decision to replace a competitor's brand has resulted in measurable improvements, including a 13% reduction in fuel consumption over 12 months. Hadley Group, a leading manufacturer of cold-rolled steel and building systems, operates a mixed fleet of 20 trucks and 60 trailers.
These vehicles serve construction sites and transport goods over both roads and challenging off-road terrain. Transport Director James Hammond highlighted the benefits of the switch, saying, "Michelin tyres last longer, resist wear and damage, and improve overall fleet safety."
Advanced Technology and Sustainability
The company leverages Michelin Connected Fleet analysis to monitor tyre pressure and performance. This proactive approach has helped address low-pressure issues, boosting safety and reducing maintenance costs.
Michelin's multi-life policy further enhances cost efficiency by enabling tyres to be regrooved and retreaded as Michelin Remix products. Michelin X Multi tyres also come with an accidental damage guarantee, offering up to a 75% refund if damage occurs before 50% wear. This durability makes the tyres ideal for Hadley Group's demanding operations.
Hammond praised Michelin's customer support and service provider Tructyre, adding, "Michelin's team and attention to detail ensure we always get prompt resolutions to any issues." The company is now trialling Michelin's X Multi Energy 2 tyres, seeking further efficiency and sustainability benefits.
