Yamaha Launches HARMO 2.0 Electric Outboard, Enhancing Eco-Friendly Boating
Yamaha Motor Europe has officially unveiled the HARMO 2.0, the latest version of its electric outboard motor[1], featuring a variety of upgrades aimed at improving the boating experience. The HARMO 2.0 introduces a cutting-edge integrated electric propulsion and steering control system that enhances performance and offers refined handling, building on the success of its predecessor. This model maintains all the acclaimed features of the original HARMO, including quiet and eco-friendly operation, intuitive design, and Yamaha’s legendary reliability, while pushing the limits of electric propulsion technology.
The next-generation HARMO presents a fresh look, increased customization options, and a range of control packages, setting new standards for electric propulsion within the marine sector. Fabrice Lacoume, Marine Director at Yamaha Motor Europe, shared his excitement: “We’re delighted to bring HARMO 2.0 to Europe. This model combines the groundbreaking engineering of HARMO 1.0 with incredible versatility, offering numerous applications, engine configurations, and control options.” Lacoume emphasized the importance of electric engines in reaching carbon neutrality in the marine industry, stating, “We believe they will be key, alongside sustainable fuels and hydrogen power.”
He expressed pride in launching a model that will allow electric engines to be fitted on an even wider range of watercraft.
