Lorry crashed into car with road closed for around three hours
A busy Nottingham road was closed for a few hours after a crash involving a lorry. Trowell Road was closed[1] between Cockington Road and Glaisdale Drive West, on the border of Wollaton[2] and Bilborough[3], after a collision occurred before 2pm this afternoon (Monday, November 4). Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service[4], which was deployed to the scene alongside Nottinghamshire Police[5], explained the road closure would be in place for some time. "Road closures are currently in place whilst we deal with an RTC involving a lorry in Bilbrough," a spokesperson said.
"Trowell Road is closed from Cockington Road, and will be for a considerable amount of time. Please plan your routes accordingly, and avoid the area where possible." Nottinghamshire Live understands the road had reopened by around 5pm this afternoon. Bus operator Trentbarton said its 'two' service was unable to serve its usual Sandringham Crescent, Birchwood Road, and Wollaton Vale stops as a result. "We have just been informed by Nottinghamshire Police that the A609 Wollaton Road is between Cockington Road & Glaisdale Drive West due to a road traffic collision," a representative said.
