Kent M25 partially blocked by lorry crash
Traffic is mounting on the M25[1] near Sevenoaks[2] this morning (November 25) following a reported collision involving multiple vehicles. National Highways confirmed that all traffic had been held on the clockwise carriageway between Junction 5, for Chipstead and Sevenoaks, and Junction 6 for Godstone shortly before 10am. Two lanes of four have since been re-opened, with heavy congestion building on approach.
There are delays of approximately 1.5 hours in the area according to National Highways and queues are stretching back onto the M26 westbound. Traffic and travel monitoring service Inrix reports that the collision has involved two lorries and a car. Emergency services are currently in attendance and road users have been urged to allow extra time for travel while the motorway remains partially closed.
It is not yet known if any injuries have been reported and KentLive has approached emergency services for further information.
Traffic cameras at the scene show that one lorry has left the carriageway and that responders are working to recover the vehicle, while long queues build on approach.
