Huge 999 response to car and lorry crash on Sky Blue Way

A car and lorry crash led to a major route in Coventry[1] being blocked during rush-hour. Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene on Sky Blue Way at just before 7.30am today, November 20. West Midlands Police[2] confirmed officers helped support fire and ambulance crews at the scene.

This meant that the stretch of road was blocked. Nobody was injured in the collision. But the stretch of road remained blocked during rush-hour due to debris being scattered across the road.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: ” We were called to Sky Blue Way, Coventry shortly before 7.30am today after a report of a collision involving a car and a lorry. “Officers attended and helped support fire and ambulance crews at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing.”

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We were called by the police to reports of an RTC at the junction of Sky Blue Way and Binley[5] Road, Coventry this morning at 7.27am.

One ambulance attended but no one was injured.”
