Five people badly injured after lorry and car collide

Five people were taken to hospital after a crash involved a lorry and a car near Wadebridge[1]. Emergency services were called to the A389 at St Issey at around 8.30am this morning (Tuesday, November 26). The air ambulance rushed to the scene alongside police officers and firefighters.

The casualties were taken to Royal Cornwall Hospital[2] at Treliske with broken bones. Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service[3] said: "Two appliances from Padstow[4] and a Flexi Duty Officer attended this incident. It involved one lorry and a car with five casualties in total but no persons trapped in the vehicles.

Fire service crew assisted with casualty care and scene safety. "The air ambulance and a land ambulance were also on scene along with the police, the casualties were transported to Treliske via land ambulance with broken bones but not life-threatening injuries." Devon and Cornwall Police[5] added: "Police were called at around 8.30am on Tuesday 26 November following reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a lorry near St Issey.

"The fire and ambulance service were both called. A road closure was put in place. A number of people were injured.
