Edinburgh lorry driver hospitalised following A720 city bypass ‘serious incident’
A lorry driver[1] was hospitalised after a collision on the A720 on Friday afternoon. Police[2] were called to the scene at around midday, after reports of a collision involving a lorry. Drivers were warned of 'huge tailbacks' at the time.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called around 12noon on Friday, 29 November, to a report of a crash on the A720 Edinburgh city pass near the Dreghorn junction involving a lorry[3]. "Emergency services attended and a man, the driver, was taken to hospital as a precaution." Traffic Scotland wrote on X: "The A720 is closed to all westbound traffic due to a road traffic incident. Road users are advised to use an alternative route and expect longer than normal journey times."

Approx 45 minute delay from Old Craighall this afternoon."
