Driver suffers life-threatening injuries after A34 crash involving car and lorry
The A34 southbound between Didcot[1] and Chilton has been closed since around 1pm after a major crash. The crash involved a car and a lorry and South Central Ambulance Service has confirmed the driver of the car was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital. In a statement, they said: "We were contacted shortly after 1pm with the caller reporting a serious collision on the A34 southbound between Milton and Chilton involving a car and a lorry. "We sent two ambulances, a paramedic team leader in a rapid response vehicle and the HIOWAA helicopter to the incident. The driver of the car had suffered life-threatening injuries.
"Following treatment at the scene, the driver was then taken by road to the major trauma unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford[3], with the air ambulance team travelling with the patient in the ambulance."
