Driver left with ‘very serious’ injuries after car and lorry crash on M6

West Midlands Ambulance Service[1] was called to the M6 between junctions 15 and 14 in Seighford[2] at 1.25am and sent one ambulance, a BASICS emergency doctor and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car to the scene. They found a man, the driver of the car, with very serious injuries. The lorry driver was uninjured.

A WMAS spokesperson said: "Upon arrival crews found a man who was the driver of the car, who was extricated from the vehicle by the fire service.   "Once extricated, he was assessed by ambulance staff and had sustained very serious injuries. Ambulance[3] staff administered advanced trauma care to him at the scene. "He was conveyed to Royal Stoke University Hospital[4] for further treatment.

"The driver of the lorry did not require treatment."
